The series received several nominations during its run, as well as winning a ReFrame Stamp.Young also starred in the Oliver Kassman-produced horror Out of Darkness alongside Chuku Modu, Lola Evans, Safia Oakley-Green, Arno Lüning and Luna Mwezi. Directed by Andrew Cumming and screenwriter Ruth Greenberg, the film premiered at the BFI London Film Festival. For his performance, Young went on to win Best Actor in Film at the BAFTA Scotland Awards in 2024.Also in 2024, Young appeared in The Beautiful Game, about a squad of English homeless footballers competing in the global annual football tournament the Homeless World Cup, directed by Thea Sharrock and led by Bill Nighy, Colin Farrell and Michael Ward.In 2022, Young starred in another Netflix feature The School for Good and Evil, adapted from the book written by Soman Chainani. The film debuted with 78.83 million hours viewed in its first week and was number one on Netflix’s Top 10 by the end of the week. He stars alongside an all-star cast, including Charlize Theron, Cate Blanchett and Michelle Yeoh.Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Young has appeared in a number of theater works, including leading roles in All’s Well That Ends Well (Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, 2024), Influence (The Collective Theatre, 2023), Macbeth (Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, 2018), The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (Donmar Warehouse, 2018) and two plays for Nicholas Hytner at the Bridge Theatre – A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2019) and Julius Caesar (2018).
