Therefore, Yutani considers what’s on the ship not just her property, but her birthright.Career HighlightsBorn in Busan, Korea, Sandra Yi Sencindiver was adopted in the U.S. by an American father and Korean mother before making the move to Denmark in her early childhood, where she currently resides.In addition to being an actress on the rise, Sencindiver is also known for her activism; being one of the initiators of the multi-award-winning campaign&nbsp;A Bigger Picture,&nbsp;which aims to improve representation on screen for actors and filmmakers in major Danish films and television series. The initiative brought key governmental and industry figures to the table to discuss improving representation and implementing more inclusive policies. It received a prestigious&nbsp;Bodil Koch (Equity) Award&nbsp;and was awarded the&nbsp;Diversity Prize&nbsp;at the&nbsp;Ekko Shortlist Awards.She is most recognized as “Lady Amalisa” in Prime Video’s fantasy series&nbsp;The Wheel of Time and as series regular “Enjoiner Rue Corintha” in Apple TV+’s sci-fi series&nbsp;Foundation. More recently, she starred as “Yuji Lee” in the 2024 global Netflix hit&nbsp;Geek Girl based on the best-selling novel by Holly Smale.Sencindiver’s many screen credits include the 2013 thriller&nbsp;The Shooter. She is widely recognized for her appearances in numerous critically acclaimed primetime dramas in Scandinavia, including&nbsp;Oxen,&nbsp;the formative Nordic noir series&nbsp;The Killing,&nbsp;The Protectors,&nbsp;Below the Surface,&nbsp;DNA,&nbsp;Follow the Money and the thrilling award-winning noir drama&nbsp;The Bridge, the Swedish detective series&nbsp;Bäckström and as a series regular in the Danish drama&nbsp;2900 Happiness. Additionally, she recently wrote and directed Seeking Hwa Sun, which has been nominated at various film festivals and nominated for a Robert Award, the Danish equivalent of an Academy Award®.&nbsp;Outside of her screen roles, Sencindiver is heavily involved with the Danish theater scene, in both directing and acting, twice earning her awards by the Danish Arts Council for directing two shows. She previously worked as an artistic director at the theater company&nbsp;Danskdansk, which seeks to promote inclusion, diversity, access and representation in the arts.&nbsp;Rebound, a play directed by Sencindiver, opened at Mungo Park Theatre last year. Sencindiver went on to write and direct a short called&nbsp;Watch, which will be shown at various international film festivals, about a woman who seeks out a childhood friend to confront and make amends the wrongs of their past.
