Monica Levinson is a prolific film and television producer working alongside top innovators in entertainment.Levinson joined Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson’s banner Color Force as an in-house producer in 2022, working across television and film. In addition to executive producing FX’s Say Nothing, she is a co- executive producer on two FX limited series: Clipped and American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez.Just prior to joining Color Force, Levinson produced three films: the award-winning global sensation Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, the Netflix hit Bill Burr’s Old Dads, as well as her directorial debut, the documentary The Stories of Us.From its inception in 2014 through 2019, Levinson served as president of production at ShivHans Pictures, an independent production and finance company. Aside from creating and running day-to-day operations, she developed a unique slate of film and television projects and produced numerous critically acclaimed and award-winning films, including Wander Darkly, Brian Banks, Beirut, Danny Collins and Oscar®-nominated films Trumbo and Captain Fantastic. She also executive produced The Trial of Chicago 7.Prior to ShivHans, she lent her talents on an array of hit films such as Brüno, Zoolander, Dodgeball, Clear History, Private Parts and Borat, the latter of which was named one of the top 10 films of 2006 by the American Film Institute (AFI). After starting her career in broadcast news in her hometown of Washington D.C., Levinson made her transition into narrative storytelling while working on feature films with visionary directors Alan J. Pakula, Sidney Lumet and Michael Mann.Levinson is active on the boards and executive committees of Women in Film, the producers branch of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Women’s Production Society and the Syracuse Alumni Regional Council. She is also a member of the Directors Guild of America , Producers Guild of America, Producers Union, Television Academy of Arts and Sciences and an active founding member of INDIE, representing the independent film industry for IATSE negotiations, lobbying for California tax credits and developing HR safeguards and resources for independent filmmakers.
