Zal Batmanglij&nbsp;is a director and screenwriter, most notably recognized for his groundbreaking Netflix series The OA, which he co-created with writer and lead actress Brit Marling. He first made his mark as a director with the mesmerizing psychological thriller Sound of My Voice, which received widespread praise from both audiences and critics at the Sundance Film Festival. Batmanglij and Marling continued their successful collaboration with the 2013 film The East, featuring Marling and Alexander Skarsgård, which also garnered significant attention at Sundance.&nbsp;
