BAFTA-nominated British actor Harris Dickinson has received critical acclaim for his diverse film and television work since breaking out in Eliza Hittman’s 2017 Sundance hit Beach Rats. He was nominated for Best Male Lead at the Independent Spirit Award and Breakthrough Actor at the Gotham Awards for his first screen role as “Frankie.” In 2022, Dickinson was selected as one of the five BAFTA EE Rising Star nominees, the prestigious award that honors a performer who has shown outstanding talent on the big screen and captured the attention of the public and film industry.
Last year, Dickinson led Ruben Östlund's Palme d’Or-winning and Academy Award® and BAFTA-nominated satirical comedy film Triangle of Sadness alongside Woody Harrelson and Charlbi Dean.
In early 2023, Dickinson was seen in the British independent feature film Scrapper. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, earning unanimous critical praise and winning the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic. Directed by Charlotte Regan, the film has been picked up by Charades in the UK.
Later this year, Dickinson will star alongside Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White in Sean Durkin’s new film for A24, The Iron Claw. 2023 will also see Dickinson star in Steve McQueen’s Apple Original film Blitz, which tells the stories of Londoners during the events of the Blitz of World War II. Dickinson will star alongside Stephen Graham, Saoirse Ronan, Erin Kellyman and Kathy Burke.
In 2022, Dickinson starred as “Chase Andrews” in the film adaptation of Delia Owens’ bestselling novel, Where the Crawdads Sing alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones. The script was written by Academy Award-nominated writer Lucy Alibar with Olivia Newman directing and Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter producing through their Hello Sunshine company. Dickinson also played “Dickie Attenborough” in the Searchlight murder-mystery film See How They Run, starring alongside Sam Rockwell, Saoirse Ronan, Adrien Brody and Ruth Wilson.
In 2021, Dickinson had a starring role in Matthew Vaughn’s The King’s Man and Joanna Hogg’s The Souvenir: Part II, a sequel to The Souvenir, alongside Honor Swinton Byrne and Tilda Swinton. He was BIFA-nominated in 2020 in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in Henry Blake’s County Lines. Other film credits include Maleficent: Mistress of Evil opposite Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer; Steve McLean’s Postcards from London, which was the closing night film of the 2018 BFI Flare Festival; FOX’s The Darkest Minds opposite Amandla Stenberg; and Xavier Dolan’s Matthias & Maxime.
In 2018, Dickinson starred in the Simon Beaufoy-created and Danny Boyle-directed FX television series Trust starring as John Paul Getty III opposite Donald Sutherland and Hilary Swank. In 2019, he lent his voice to the Netflix animated series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
From an early age, Dickinson expressed a keen interest in both acting and filmmaking. He trained in theater with Raw Academy and partook in the LAMDA examination program. At the age of 16, he won council funding to write and direct his first short film. His recent short 2003 premiered at the BFI London Film Festival in 2021.
